The Department of Dance at Notre Dame enhances student life and NDC spirit on campus. Our mission is to instill a love of dance in all of our students, helping each individual to reach past their current limitations, and inspiring self confidence and personal growth. We believe in teaching students how to dance, not just “a dance.”
The dance program is built on the foundation of strong technique, self awareness, expression, precision, enthusiasm, high energy, and teamwork. We work hard to maintain a positive environment that drives our students to be disciplined and respectful towards performing arts as a whole. We motivate each student to strive daily for their personal best, as well as to support one another in fostering a sense of teamwork in and out of the classroom. Our dancers train in our state-of-the-art dance studio ensuring safety and stability.
It is clear that the discipline, focus, and artistic enlightenment of dance creates success in all aspects of life. Dance education contributes to the development of responsible, intelligent, dedicated, determined, creative, and well-rounded adults in society.
The Notre Dame College Dance has three ensembles: The Falconettes, Elite Dance Team, and Dance Ensemble. Our dancers have the opportunity to perform at dance showcases, home football and basketball games, wrestling matches, musicals, and other events used to promote school spirit.
